Just back from Narva. An extremely well organised and highly enjoyable tour. The depth of information was exactly right and there was a good balance between education and enjoyment. These guys work hard to make tours the best they can be. Recommended. Phil Curme. Owner of; http://walkingthebattlefields.blogspot.com/

To the 2 Pauls from F.B.T. Well what can i say? I went to the Battle of Narva tour not really knowing what to expect, but came back 4 days later a reinvigorated WW2 history buff with a whole new outlook on what really happened in the Eastern Front, and one of the most savage battles in that campaign, Narva. Id seen many times on old newsreel and films the various fighting and battles on the eastern front but was never able to put it into context or a sense of reality. Your tour actually placed me in the exact locations, ie. swamps, forests and battlefields that the fighting took place in. This along with your almost infectious enthusiasm and incredible depth of knowledge on the entire subject, the very relaxed and friendly feel to the tour, and ultimately both of your company on this tour made my trip a very worthwhile occasion. The accomodation in Tallin and Narva was first class, as were the transport arrangements and also your attitudes to anythingOstfront` or at all relevant to making my holiday a most enjoyable experience. I seem now to be almost fascinated in anything at all to do with the eastern front and look forward to studying it as much as i can in future now that i have had such a tremendous initial insight as was the Narva tour. Thanks once again for a wonderful and never to be forgotten holiday and i will definately be travelling with your company again in the very near future.(i even named my webaddress after a favourite location on the tour.) See ya boys!!! (tannenburg44@googlemail.com)

From: allanpattinson@talktalk.net i attended one of your normandy tours and i am writing to say what an unforgettable experience it was.some of our group were actual ww2 veterans and to listen to their experiences was both fascinating and humbling, and i have to say a lot of times, side splittingly funny, to actualy be where both sides of the conflict fought and died was an experience not to be missed, to talk to the survivors of some of the actual battle sites that we visited was amazing,to be at pegasus bridge at midnight with the veterans was an honour, and i have to say pauls knowledge of all things military is encyclopedic. once again many thanks for a unforgettable experience

Having returned from you Tour to Normandy I have had time to contemplate and reflect on the experience and consequently decided to email you with some feedback. The Tour was extremely professional and well organised which ensured that we could maximise our time and gain the most from the Tour. I however, also liked the flexibility that was built into the programme and the continual consultation with the group in order to monitor if every ones expectations and needs were attained and satisfied.

I was very impressed with your knowledge of the locality as well as your understanding of tactics and formations which when combined made history come alive. The manner in which you delivered your knowledge and provided supplementing documentation conveyed conscientious resourcefulness and a talent to communicate appropriately to people with diverse levels of understanding. I personally found the maps with the Order of Battle and involved Units a useful resource to aid and enhance my understanding.

The comradeship experienced was incredible some credit for this must be due to your leadership and organisation skills. The diversity of people of dissimilar ages within the group contributed to the success of the Tour (World War Two veterans, civilians, post World War Two soldiers, other Uniformed Services).

In summery, I had a superb experience one that I will forever treasure. During the week I encountered extremes of emotions I was moved with tears of sadness and grief whilst paradoxically at times I laughed till I cried

Just a short note to say thanks. I found it really interesting. I know very little about the Army past or present apart from a short time in the TA but you pitched your tour at all levels. I could understand with no knowledge yet I noticed that others in the group including 1944 veterans and long serving ex soldiers agreed with what you said and were greatly impressed with both your knowledge and method of communicating and presenting with professionalism. I have returned honoured to have been a part of the tour it was a moving experince but ballanced with appropriate humour, comradeship and a great way to learn so much. Thanks Paul. I hope to travel again with you. regards and take care.
